Jobs in NZ ski resorts

Want to spend the season in New Zealand? If the thought of no snow over the summer between northern hemisphere winters feels you with fear, head down under in June. It's a different set up in the southern hemisphere to your typical chalet holiday in the Alps, so the usual chalet jobs aren't readily available.

Instead, people tend to live and stay down in the valley, and drive up to the slopes daily. There's generally no big resort, just a club house, lift ticket office, resaturant, hire shop etc, and the resort, rather than a tour operator, is your employer.

The New Zealand season typically runs from June to late-September/early-October, with most areas taking on their staff from February onwards. Check the links below for details on the main ski areas, plus have a read of Zoe Watson's advice on finding work in New Zealand.
